Definition Tester
Test a definition against examples, counterexamples, and borderline cases. The tool runs eight tests (A through H): too broad, too narrow, circularity, vagueness, ambiguity, counterexample, borderline-case guidance, and controversial assumption — surfacing defects from the patterns of mismatch between what the definition gives and what each case requires.
Pairs with: the Definition Builder. The Builder helps you construct a definition from genus + distinguishing feature; this tool stress-tests an existing definition against specific cases. A natural workflow is: build with one, test with the other, revise, repeat.
1. Term and proposed definition
Enter the term and the definition you want to test. The definition can be your own draft or one you found and want to challenge.
2. Cases to test
List the cases you want to run the definition against. Each line becomes a separate row in the case-by-case test below.
