Units follow the order of a standard intro-to-logic syllabus. Assign the matching unit the week you cover the chapter; every lesson links to the free Reasoning Lab tool that practices the idea.
Chapter numbers refer to Hurley, A Concise Introduction to Logic (13th ed.) and Copi, Cohen & McMahon, Introduction to Logic (14th ed.); other editions differ slightly. Beyond the textbook, the curriculum also covers Modal Logic, Set Theory and Relations, Decision Theory, Logic of Problem Solving, and Hermeneutics.

Our FERPA statement, privacy policy, and terms of service are public. Students appear to classmates under a pseudonym by default. Institution plans add a signed FERPA Data Processing Agreement, a current sub-processor list, SSO and SIS integration, volume pricing from $5 per student per year, and dedicated onboarding — write to institutional@rigorousreasoning.com.

Frequently asked by instructors
Do my students have to pay?
No. Every student who joins one of your courses — by class join code or by the email you enter on the roster — gets full Student Pro-level access for as long as the course is active. This is enforced by the platform, not a discount code. Team Small covers up to 10 students, Team Classroom up to 50, and Institution has no cap.
How is written work graded?
A deterministic rubric decides the score; a language model only explains it. Every free-text response is scored against a rubric for its reasoning type — validity and form for deductive work, evidence and rival explanations for inductive and abductive work — and you see the rubric scores alongside the explanation. Quizzes and concept checks are ungraded self-checks.
Can I use it alongside my textbook?
Yes. The units follow the order of a standard intro-to-logic syllabus (see the alignment table), so you can assign a unit or a single lesson the same week you cover that chapter. Every lesson links to the Reasoning Lab tool that practices the idea, and the tools are free and public — students can use them before they ever create an account.
Does the gradebook export to my LMS?
Gradebook CSV export comes in three layouts: a generic spreadsheet, the Canvas gradebook-import layout, and the Brightspace (D2L) layout. SSO and SIS integration are part of the Institution plan.
What about FERPA?
